Tamagotchi is coming back - Just in time for Christmas!

The Tamagotchi was everyone's favorite toy for about a week in the 90s. The tiny little needy gadget required a few clicks to be fed or played with every 15 minutes, or it would die and not be able to come back, meaning you had to buy a new one.

Bandai America has announced they will be reintroducing the little A.I pets to American toy stores, with a limited 20th anniversary sale. Starting November 5th you'll be able to purchase the Tamagotchi in stores and online (check back here), for $14.99

The Tamagotchi is a digital A.I pet/game. Just a little gadget you can keep on a keychain (the new version is 20% smaller than the original) and requires some attention in order to survive from the moment you turn it on.

The recent re-releases of Super Nintendo and NES shows that nostalgia just works in the game and toys industry, and it will probably be the case with the Tamagotchi as well. For anyone who missed the little pixellated pets, there have been several apps and spin-offs, but we have not really had any impressive A.I or robot pets since AIBO.
